Congesting Spaces

Congesting Time

Multi-Channel Video Projection

Contesting Spaces Congesting Time explores how the condensing of different spaces can negotiate the distance between countries and cultures. An illuminated visual of a vast and open Australian outback landscape was projected against the monumental structure of a historical building in Copenhagen Denmark. In presenting this landscape, surgical precision is needed in the calculation of the projection, such that it fits into the finite capacity of the building. The juxtaposition of these two completely opposite natures is an attempt to negotiate the actual distance between the two countries, congesting the time needed to travel between both ends of the globe – a bridge between the two cultures.
